Trans Dreams Research Project

Toronto Jungian Analyst Stacey Jenkins is collecting dreams from Trans individuals who wish to share them. The purpose of this research is multi-layered. First, it will be worked with alongside training candidates of the Ontario Association of Jungian Analysts’ Analyst Training Program to understand how Jung’s concepts of Anima and Animus can be understood in light of modern experiences of gender identity and sexuality. Second, Stacey is seeking to support working with Trans individuals in her private practice and deepen experience in this important area.

Unified feminine and masculine in alchemy.

In Stacey’s view, Jungian psychology is an ideal depth psychology to engage a broad range of gender identities and sexual orientations. We consider that the psyche is a fluid structure that changes to suit the wholeness and health of the individual. Every person can have figures of different genders and sexual orientations within themselves. We are each of us a multiplicity.

Jungian psychology has motifs of united opposites of the Coniunctio and the Hermaphrodite. These can express a mystical wholeness that may be sought or achieved by transgendered individuals.

Anyone who identifies as Trans and wishes to share a dream they have had can share it anonymously in this questionnaire.
*Please note that any dreams submitted in the survey may be published online, appear in books or articles and/or be shared in public seminars. Therefore, please alter names of people and identifying details to protect anonymity.

If you have any questions or concerns, please Contact Stacey to share them.
