Support for Addiction Recovery

“Man needs difficulties; they are necessary for health.”  Carl Jung

Addiction Recovery Support - Stacey Jenkins, Jungian Psychotherapist

An addiction is a dependency upon a substance or behaviour that gets progressively worse over time. In its grip, one’s life becoming increasingly consumed with satisfying its demands.

Jungian therapy can provide addiction recovery support. It can help a person address emotional material that surfaces in sobriety or abstinence and foster a deep sense of meaning, of understanding why in the context of their life path and growth the addiction may have been a blessing, or perhaps more aptly, a Divine Curse.

My role as a therapist

Experience has taught me that therapy does not cure addiction.

For clients who are exploring and addressing addiction issues, I consider my role as a therapist is to help clarify where they are in their readiness to recover and to assist them in moving forward to a life free from dependencies, addictions and compulsive behaviours.

I am also a support and sounding board for things that emerge in the process of recovery, helping the client to face challenges without returning to substances and addictive behaviours.

If you want to explore whether you are addicted or get addiction recovery support, contact me to set up a consultation.
